Our Story

Seven Decades of Open Doors

Built in 1850 along the banks of the Illinois River, 1850's Guest House has welcomed travelers, families, and friends for over 175 years. What was once a stopping point for stagecoach passengers is now a carefully preserved bed and breakfast that honors its past while providing every comfort of modern lodging.

Each room tells a story — from the original heart-pine floors to the hand-carved mantels that have witnessed generations of memories. We invite you to slow down, breathe in the history, and let the pace of small-town Illinois restore you.
